Spotlight Edition: Prolijo Introduces New Small Batch, Artesanal Tequila at Mexico in a Bottle

SPOTLIGHT: The Growing Prolijo Family

Seven years ago, Prolijo Mezcal was born with a simple mission: to produce agave spirits with cultural consciousness and showcase the artistry of mezcal with every sip. We’re proud to share the next chapter in our story; introducing Prolijo Artisanal Tequila

Made with 100% single estate mature Blue Weber Agave, Prolijo Artisanal Tequila is small batch and traditionally crafted: slow-roasted in a stone brick oven, crushed with tahona, open-air fermented with native agave yeast, and double distilled in stainless-steel pot stills.

Our approach in crafting Prolijo Artisanal Tequila embodies the same passion for tradition and obsession with quality as found in our mezcal and is a continuing expression of our love for the majestic plant itself. The agave at the core of Prolijo Tequila grows in the highlands of Nayarit, Mexico, in the region of Santa María del Oro, a hidden gem for blue agave cultivation. With its rich volcanic soil, ideal altitude, and unique microclimates, this land produces some of the finest Blue Weber Agave in the world, perfect for crafting exceptional tequila.

The Prolijo mission remains the same, crafting culturally conscious agave spirits that are steeped in tradition and hundreds of years of learned knowledge and experience. Like with our mezcal, every sip of our tequila showcases those qualities and illustrates the incredible flavor profiles drawn from the agave that engage all your senses.

For us, this is so much more than a new product– it’s a milestone. After seven years of steady growth and market expansion across the US, we’re deepening our roots and delivering more of Mexico’s finest craft spirits to our growing community.

Whether you’ve been with us since day one or just discovered Prolijo, we invite you to experience this new leg of our journey. And if you are at Mexico in a Bottle in Chicago on Sunday, be sure to stop by our table and taste for yourself why we are so excited.
